I'm still not sure if anyone else is bothering to make use of got on macOS
via MacPorts yet, but they just merged my PR to update got to the portable
version 0.71:

As an aside, it's been really pleasant reading this mailing list discourse.
After abandoning misc@ years (decades?) ago due to all manner of nonsense,
it's enjoyable to encounter active and thoughtful communication from a
smaller group of developers with a much less distressing signal to noise
ratio.
