Thank you for detailed review and the fixes!

Regarding displaying all commits if there are no matches - originally I
tried to mimic mutt's limit feature, therefore L binding and 'all' as a
special pattern. Mutt (and less) displays empty screen if there are no
matches, also, I think 'no limit matches found' string can go unnoticed
by a user if we display all the commits again and he can be confused if
the feature is working at all.

What do you think about that?

I've applied all your fixes except this one, wouldn't it be too
confusing for novice reader? I understand that 3-steps stair of if's
isn't good, but it's little bit quicker to follow.
