Excluding only these two changes, that I don't understand (why two
whitespaces?), I've committed the other changes, thanks!

I've skipped also the $Mdocdate$ one: CVS expands that tag on commit,
got doesn't and so I prefer to forget^W try to remember to bump the
date when changing the manpage.

The template documentation is internal and not inteded to be shipped,
but it's not an excuse for keeping sub-par documentation, so thanks
for looking into these as well!
