Thanks for looking into this. Please be aware though that I haven't
had the same challenges as you on NetBSD.  Which is interesting in and
of itself.

Before we go any further, did you know that GoT is already packaged in
pkgsrc?  See:

Would you mind liaising with the maintainer of that?

The reason I ask this is because I've not had these patches sent to me
from the maintainer, so if they're needed, I'll happily include them.
